Welcome to the survey on the current state of inclusion at the University of Koblenz!
We, the inclusion managers at the University of Koblenz, would like to use this short survey to assess the current state of inclusion and accessibility at our university. We are interested in the experiences and perspectives of both students and staff.
The goal of the survey is to highlight barriers—whether physical, digital, organizational, or social—and to identify positive examples and effective structures.
Our understanding of inclusion is comprehensive. It encompasses the unrestricted involvement and participation of all people in social and institutional contexts. In doing so, we take into account various dimensions of diversity. This expands the understanding that previously focused solely on disability. Consequently, the focus shifts to changes in structures, cultures, and practices (Booth & Ainscow, 2002). Inclusion is thus understood as a continuous process through which barriers to attendance, participation, and achievement are systematically dismantled (UNESCO, 2005). In this context, heterogeneity, as diversity, reflects the norm without establishing a hierarchy of difference (Prengel, 2006). For this reason, the goal is to create an educational and social system that is shaped by everyone from the very beginning.
There are no right or wrong answers—we’d like to hear about your personal experiences and opinions.
Thank you for taking the time to help improve inclusion at the University of Koblenz!
